Fire officials are still assessing all the damage from wildland blazes Sunday and Monday. At least 13 houses were destroyed in a Mitchell County. Livestock, barns and equipment burned. Investigators say a downed power line near oil pumps in the northwestern part of the County may have sparked one of the largest fires, which winds pushed up to fourty miles per hour. More than 120-thousand acres burned, battled by scores of volunteer fire departments from all over Concho Valley. Ozona's Fire Chief wants to thank all the citizens who brought water, juice and food to firefighters who put in extended shifts.
