The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for later today for an area including the counties of Tom Green, Nolan, Coke and Irion. The warning will be in effect from 1 to 6 PM and means fire weather conditions will have reached a critical level. South winds of 20 miles an hour will gust to 30 miles an hour. Humidity will drop to 15 to 20 percent. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly--outdoor burning is not reommended.
