Today is American Diabetes Association Alert Day. For 24 years, the association has set aside one special day for people to learn if they are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. In coordination with Diabetes Alert Day, Shannon Medical Center will offer free blood glucose screenings at H-E-B from 9 to 11 a.m. and at Zentner's Daughter Steakhouse from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, visit diabetes-dot-org.
