As expected, there will be not only a new judge but a change in venue in the bigamy trial of former F-L-D-S leader Wendell Nielsen. Unlike previous FLDS trials,including the one that sent former church leader Warren Jeffs to a long prison term, this one will not be presided over by District Judge Barbara Walther. Walther initiating a change on the bench for unknown reasons. The trial will now move to Midland and be presided over by Judge Robert Moore. It was originally set to begin January 24th. The move to Midland came after attorneys became concerned about possible over-use of the jury pool in Tom Green and Schleicher Counties where previous FLDS trials have been heard.
