Five Teens Arrested In Armed Robberies

A series of arrests in San Angelo early this morning as officers tracked down a group of teens who were allegedly robbing convenience stores. Police first called to Allsup's on Sherwood Way a little before one-thirty this morning. A clerk there told officers that a group of young men wearing black clothing, one of whom brandished a pistol, had robbed the store and fled. While officers were investigating that robbery, they got another call that what was allegedly the same group was robbing the Stripes store on Knickerbocker Road. They were spotted driving away from the store by a San Angelo police sergeant who tailed them to a house. Police say they found a mask, baseball bats and two cases of beer that were allegedly stolen from Stripes in their car. Police arrested four teenaged boys and one teenaged girl on charges of aggravated assault.
