Civil War music program

The sounds of the 1860s will come alive when the sixth program in Angelo State University's Civil War Lecture Series explores the "Music of the Civil War" next week. ASU music professor John Irish will give a general overview of the Civil War's music and musicians. Songs from the era will be performed by the Ice House Brass and guest soloist John Carroll of the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra, playing a cornet from the era. The program is open free to the public at 7 p.m. next Tuesday in the University Auditorium.
