Early Saturday morning, San Angelo police responding to a report of a fight in progress at D-Ray's restaurant on South Chadbourne observed a 2013 Mazda passenger car leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, it sped off, eventually crashing into a traffic light and signal control box at South Chadbourne and East Concho. Police say 29-year-old Kindal Porras of San Angelo attempted to flee on foot but was arrested on several charges including felony driving while intoxicated. Damage to the light and control box could total as much as 100-thousand dollars.
