San Angelo police and the Tom Green County Attorney's Office have issued a scam alert. several citizens have called to report they have been contacted by individuals claiming to be a representative from the “County Attorney’s Office”. The scammers are demanding that people pay a sum of money to avoid being arrested on a warrant. The scammers will ask the victim to send a money order via Western Union to a location other than the County Attorney’s office. The Tom Green County Attorney’s Office does not conduct business this way. If you are contacted by scammers- hang up and add the number to your blocked calls list.
