Saturday's Christmas in Olde Ballinger parade led off with a marching band and ended with the main event — Santa Claus.The annual parade made its way down Hutchings Avenue with about two dozen floats, vintage cars and Junior Miss Merry Christmas contestants.
Although Christmas in Olde Ballinger traditionally includes arts and crafts, food and entertainment, those aspects of the event were absent this year. That didn't stop residents from lining the street to get in the Christmas spirit.
Children grabbed handfuls of candy tossed from various floats with smiles on their faces and waved to Santa as the parade came to a close.
