San Angelo police say a kayaker discovered a submerged stolen vehicle on Tuesday evening. Officers responded to the portion of the river near Bell Street and South Concho Drive to investigate. Additional emergency crews as well as Home Motors personnel were called to the scene to assist in the recovery process which took about one hour. The vehicle was unoccupied. The 2009 Silver Dodge Avenger was identified as being reported stolen from the Lithia Autoplex, on Sherwood Way, last December. Police believe the vehicle has been submerged for some time because it was covered in moss and debris.
