Tax scam warning

It's tax season and the Texas Attorney General's office reminds you to beware of scams that attempt to steal your tax refunds or your identity. The IRS does not use emails or text messages to contact taxpayers about issues related to their tax returns. If you do receive unsoliciated email claiming to be from the IRS, you should never respond to it, never open any attachments, never click on Web links contained in the email and, finally, delete ir or report it to phishing (spelled with a ph) phishing at i-r-s-dot-gov.
