The Central High School boys soccer team may not have made the playoffs this season, but the Bobcats' junior forward, Preston Arteaga, was named the District 3-5A MVP. Two other Central players - defender Ray Obena and midfielder Anthony Graham - who earned first-team honors. Midfielder Ruben Dominguez and goalkeeper Bryan Syler were named to the second team.

A loss last night to the Nuggets dropped the Mavericks close to fourth place. The Oklahoma Thunder are only a game behind them. The Texas Rangers on the other hand have started the season on fire, at 6-0, sweeping both the Red Sox and the Mariners. Today is a day off for the Rangers before hitting the road tomorrow to start a series in Baltimore. The Houston Astros are playing Cincinnati this afternoon before returning home to face the Marlins this weekend.
