In Austin, the House is debating the general appropriations bill, or budget for the next two years. There are more than three hundred amendments tacked on to House Bill One. One of them was filed by Representative Drew Darby and calls for a 500-thousand grant to Angelo State University. That money would help make up for funding cut by the state, especially in the nursing program.
