Afternoon sports headlines

The San Angelo Colts have re-signed catcher Trey Carter and added outfielder Clay Calfee--both players' names can be found in the Angelo State Rams baseball record books.

The Mavericks lost to the Trailblazers last night, but still have the series lead 2 games to 1. Game 4 happens tomorrow and Game 5 will be Monday.

The Spurs tied their series with the Grizzlies this week 1-1, and Game 3 is tomorrow.

The Rangers slipped out of first place in the division this week after losing a series to the Angels. They'll try to rebound this weekend in a series with the Royals. The Astros are on the road against the Brewers.

Here in the Concho Valley, young people ages 7 to 14 will have a chance to attend the MLB All-Star Game this summer by competing in the Aquafina Pitch, Hit and Run Challenge. That's coming up this Saturday at Foster Field after the ASU baseball games and the following Saturday at Southern Little League at 1030 AM.
