A vintage visitor will be leaving San Angelo today. A World War Two era B-17 bomber arrived Monday at Mathis Field and has been available for flights and tours. The aircraft is owned and maintained by members of the Commemorative Air Force, a Texas-based all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, demonstration and display of military aircraft through the ages. The bomber's next stop as it wraps up a summer tour is Midland.
