Lake Nasworthy

By the end of the month, Lake Nasworthy should return to 80 percent of its capacity, which is its normal wintertime level. Under a City Council directive approved last Tuesday, the City of San Angelo’s Water Utilities Department has begun releasing water from Twin Buttes Reservoir into Nasworthy in an effort to raise the lake’s level about 8 inches. As of Thursday, Nasworthy was at 70 percent of its capacity, having been replenished by nearly 6 inches of rain at the end of September after two summers of severe drought.
