A candidate for the state board of education was in San Angelo Tuesday, accusing the current board of having an extreme agenda. Democrat Steve Schafersman, running for the District 15 seat, says the board will be considering science and social studies instructional materials with an eye toward rejecting or censoring materials which do not coincide with that agenda.
