Helping Hands

San Angelo now has an additional resource to help provide services for low-income elderly homeowners in need of assistance. Helping Hands, a newly created organization, will work in partnership with community volunteers to help restore homes of qualifying homeowners. Helping Hands will hold its first blitz day tomorrow. More than 600 volunteers from organizations throughout the community who will be repairing 30 homes. The work includes painting the exterior, installing wheel chair ramps, repairing windows and doors, patching roofs, installing smoke detectors, and yard cleaning.
