The City of San Angelo has been awarded a one-point-two million dollar federal Economic Development Administration grant to support the construction of a Concho Valley Regional Fire Training Center. In addition to serving as a training facility for the San Angelo Fire Department, the center will serve Tom Green and 12 other Concho Valley counties, increasing the region’s ability to contain wildfires. It will be built behind the City’s Animal Shelter on U.S.Highway 67 North.
