Afternoon sports headlines

The San Angelo Colts continue their homestand tonight, kicking off a four-game series against the Edinburg Roadrunners starting at 7:05. The Colts just completed a four-game sweep of Rio Grande Valley and now trail the White Wings by just one game in the South Division of the North American League.

The 38th annual Angelo Football Clinic started today and lasts through Friday at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena. Six directors including former Cowboys coach Wade Phillips are putting on the clinic, and about a thousand coaches are expected to attend.

The Dallas Mavericks have announced plans for the parade celebrating their NBA Championship. It will start tomorrow morning at 10 at the Dallas Convention Center and finish up at the American Airlines Center. Players, coaches and front officer personnel will participate. A crowd of 250-thousand is expected along the parade route.

The Rangers will try again in New York tonight after a loss last night to the Yankees. The Astros are home against Pittsburgh after a loss last night.
