Afternoon sports headlines

The San Angelo Colts have been doing a lot of waiting in the past two days...waiting out rain. Last night's game at Harlingen against the Rio Grande Valley White Wings was rained out, and there was a double header scheduled for today. The first game has already been rained out. They'll try to squeeze in both games tonight, with the first one scheduled for 5:30. Both games will be seven innings.

This weekend the Colts are back at home against the White Wings, in a Friday through Monday series.

The Rangers are up two games to one in the first half of the Lone Star Series against the Astros. Both teams are off today, then the Rangers host the Mets tomorrow while the Astros head back to Houston to host the Rays in a weekend series.

Wall High School finished third in the Class 2A University Interscholastic League Lone Star Cup standings for the 2010-11 school year. The standings are based on team performance in district and state championships in both athletics and academics.
