Sanctuary Cities Bill Passes State Senate

Last night, State Senators approved a bill that would forbid local governments from having policies in place that prevent officers from enforcing immigration laws. Governor Rick Perry had labeled the so called sanctuary city bill a priority, before the start of the last legislative session. This measure would require the name of everyone arrested and everyone seeking a driver’s license to be run through federal immigration databases.
