Tom Green County Takes in Abused Horses, Seeking Help

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office has taken in 16 horses found to be in deplorable conditions in Christoval, last week. Deputies took them to a county 4-H facility. Some are yearlings. One has a hole in its neck that caused an infection. The Sheriff’s Department had to get approval from the Commissioners Court to accept donations, yesterday, as hay, feed and veterinarian expenses shot up to 13-hundred dollars. Monetary donations go to the Tom Green County Treasurer, with a memo of Animals. The Tom Green County Extension Office can take feed donations. Charges may be filed for animal cruelty. There’s a hearing tomorrow.
