Interest Rate on Hickory Aquifer Loan Helps City

In yesterday’s meeting, Council members learned the interest rate on the loan for the Hickory Aquifer project is going to be set at one point three five percent, rather than two percent, which will save the city tens of millions of dollars over the course of the loan. The Council discussed the city’s Capital Improvement Plan and what items on it should take precedence, over the next five years. And, they approved the purchase of mechanical equipment for the City Hall’s heating and cooling plant, at a cost of just under 500-thousand dollars.
