The White Hat Fire continues to burn near Maryneal, about 15 miles south of Sweetwater. The Texas Forest Service says voluntary evacuations are still in effect for people in Maryneal. The most dangerous part of the fire is just four miles south of the community. The fire has burned over 71-thousand acres, has destroyed 16 structures and is now 75 percent contained.
