The City of San Angelo's online auction of surplus vehicles and pieces of heavy equipment is being called "an unqualified success." The city says the auction generated preliminary net proceeds of more than 168-thousand dollars. That's eight percent more than last year's sale and a 47 percent increase over the 2011 sale, which included equipment only. The sale drew bidders from across the state and nation. Only one item, a generator, did not sell.
