Water pumps moved

The City of San Angelo is relocating water pumps from Twin Buttes Reservoir's south pool to its north pool in an effort to maintain the level of Lake Nasworthy. The pumps had been used to move approximately one-point-four billion gallons - from the south pool to the north pool, where the water could subsequently be released into Nasworthy. The elevation of the reservoir, whose recreational opportunities draw visitors from across the region, has declined in recent weeks to 76 percent capacity because of persistent drought and extreme temperatures.
