On Tuesday afternoon, San Angelo Police observed a man they believed to be a wanted suspect operating a motor vehicle in the 2300 block of Sherwood Way. Officers attempted a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Pierce Street but, after briefly stopping, the driver took off and a brief chase ensued. After reaching speeds near 60 miles an hour, the suspect abandoned the vehicle on West Avenue K and fled on food to West Avenue J, where he was taken into custody. 29-year-old George H. Walker of San Angelo is facing multiple charges.
