Traffic stop arrests

An early morning traffic stop on Tuesday landed two San Angelo residents in jail after police seized gun, drugs and cash. An officer conducting a traffic stop on a Chevy Tahoe in the 700 block of West Harris Avenue for failing to properly signal a turn smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search turned up a loaded handgun, two plastic bags containing marijuana and several thousand dollars in cash. Arrested were the driver, 22-year-old Chancey Leyva and his passenger, 20-year-old Candice Perez, both of San Angelo.
