San Angelo Man Jailed after Stabbing in North San Angelo

Sunday, August 25, 2013, at approximately 12:33 a.m., San Angelo Police were dispatched to the Candlelight Apartments located at 15 E. 31st ST. to investigate a reported stabbing. One San Angelo man has been arrested in connection to the incident that left one man injured.


Once on scene, police located a 41-year-old male victim who was bleeding from a laceration to his left arm. The victim said a man who ran away just before they arrived had assaulted him. Shortly after, medical personnel arrived and transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment of his nonlife-threatening injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.


Police immediately searched the area and located Clifton D. Hall (DOB 04-07-56) of San Angelo hiding behind a nearby fence. Hall was taken into custody without incident.


Subsequent to the field investigation, police learned Hall and the victim were engaged in a verbal argument inside the apartment. The argument escalated and at some point, Hall produced a knife and cut the victim.


After a brief search of the area, police found a bag near to where Hall was found hiding behind the fence. A knife was located inside the bag along with less than 2 ounces of marijuana and several hydrocodone tablets.


Hall was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 3 >400g) and Class B Possession of Marijuana. He was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.
