There's a burn ban in effect for Tom Green County. County Commissioners voted to impose the ban, yesterday, citing all the recent wildfires around the Concho Valley, dry vegetation and winds forecast to pick up again, even more, later in the week. You may have seen some smoke in the southeast part of the county, near Christoval yesterday. That was part of a controlled burn, near Susan Peak Road. Texas Forest Service reports that huge fire in Crocket County is near ninety percent contained, today.
