The Mavericks have been on the receiving end of a game like the one last night, when a team comes from down 16 to win. This time the Mavs came out on top, beating the Lakers in Los Angeles 96-94 in game one of the semifinals. Game two is tomorrow night in LA before the series heads back to Texas.
At the Region 1-5A meet at Texas Tech, the Central High girls mile relay team won their first heat by over seven seconds and have a good chance in today's finals to medal and qualify for the state meet.
Grape Creek High School's Alexis Gallmore wasn't at her best in the high jump yesterday, but the 5'5" leap was good enough to earn her a spot at the state meet. She's going for a spot in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles today.
The Rangers will try to right the ship tonight in Seattle, coming off a loss last night. Houston was rained out last night in Cincinnati, and the two teams will go at it again tonight.
