State Lawmakers Send Voter ID Bill to Governor and Work on Budget

Texas House members approved a controversial voter ID bill and sent it to Governor Rick Perry. He’s likely to sign, since he made the issue a legislative priority, at the start of the session.
Senators gave final approval to a measure that would dip into the rainy day fund for about four billion dollars and close the current deficit.
