Afternoon sports headlines

The San Angelo Colts wrap up their spring training today with a doubleheader against the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League. The games are going on now and tickets are just three dollars each. The Colts open their regular season Wednesday night against McAllen.

Pitcher Shannon Carrico is having a great seaons for Wall softball. The Lady Hawks beat Colorado City in two out of three games over the weekend to advance to the regional finals for the first time ever. Carrico struck out 17 batters in Wall’s game one win, and was the winning pitcher in game three. The Lady Hawks will play Alpine this weekend for the right to go to the state tournament. In baseball, Miles plays Stanford and Wall plays Bushland in th playoffs.

The Mavericks try to take a commanding lead toninght in the Western Conference finals. A win against the Thunder in Oklahoma City puts them up 3-1.

The Rangers start a home series with the White Sox tonight and the Astros host the Dodgers.
