SAPD in Aftermath of Suspect Shot to Death

San Angelo Police Chief Tim Vasquez says the officer who shot 19 year old Martin Pena is on administrative leave for three days and will speak to a department psychologist. He said the officer was pursuing Pena, early Wednesday morning. When he yelled for Pena to come out from hiding in a parked car, Pena was armed. The unidentified officer shot him, then proceeded to perform chest compressions until EMTs arrived.
