Afternoon sports headlines

The Angelo State softball team found out Monday that it's heading back to the NCAA Division Two Softball National Tournament for the fifth year in a row. The Belles are seeded fourth in the South Central Region, which they've won twice in a row, and will take on fifth-seeded Emporia State Friday at Wichita Falls.

The Wall boys golf team is playing for state championship today, in the final round of the UIL State golf championships. The boys built a 13 shot lead heading into the final round.

The Rangers started the season on fire, but have dropped to third place in the division now, losing 17 of the last 26. The Rangers and A's go at it again tonight after an A's win last night. The Astros play the Reds again after Cincinnati won 6-1 last night.

Dallas Mavericks center Tyson Chandler was named Monday to the NBA All-Defense second team. The Mavs await either Oklahoma City or Memphis in the Western Conference Finals.
