Afternoon sports headlines

Former major league pitcher Francisco Cruceta has signed with the Colts. He reached the big leagues with the Indians, Mariners and Tigers, last appearing in 2008. He was a top Rangers prospect in 2007, but never got called up to Arlington. He's struck out nearly a batter per inning at every level he's pitched and the Colts are happy to have him.

The Rangers are at the White Sox again tonight after a win there yesterday. The Rangers have won 4 of their last 5. The Astros head to St. Louis after today's matinee with the Braves.

Astros owner Drayton McLane announced Monday that he has agreed to sell the team to a group led by Houston businessman Jim Crane for 680 million dollars -- the second-highest price in major league history if it is approved.

The Mavericks host the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game One of the NBA Western Conference Finals at Dallas tonight. That will be at 8 o'clock on ESPN, right after the NBA Draft Lottery.
