The Tom Green County Commission discussed ways to help volunteer fire departments in the future. A number of local crews had asked the county how to get reimbursed for equipment and supplies, in recent weeks. And, commissioners are going to investigate how best to help them get federal funding, but until they vote on a standard procedure, the board agreed to handle requests on a case by case basis.
