Afternoon sports headlines

The San Angelo Colts have won five of their last six after starting the seaon 1-6. They'll try to stay hot tonight on the road against the Rio Grande Valley White Wings. It's a four game series, and the Colts will play that same team again this weekend in another four game series at home.

Two of Angelo State’s student-athletes, have been named Lone Star Conference Scholar-Athlete Award winners. Alix Dean was honored in softball and Brian Holik in men's track. Dean was a two-time All-American and hit .366 over her career. Holik was an All-American six times in track including a fifth-place finish as part of 1,600 meter relay team last month.

The Lake View softball team has three Maidens on the first-team all-district--Tori Holsey, Natalie Flores, and Amanda Ramage.

It's a big night for the Mavericks, trying to even the NBA Finals series with the Heat. Miami leads 2-1 with tip off in Game 4 at 7pm from Dallas.
