Bomb Threat Evacuates County Offices

A threat of fireworks -- the real kind -- shuts down part of Tom Green County government on the eve of the Memorial Day Weekend. Police say someone phoned in a bomb threat for the county office building yesterday afternoon. Sheriff's deputies and San Angelo police evacuated the building and set up a perimeter on North Bryant Boulevard. Officers then began a thorough search of the building which did not produce a bomb. Just to be sure, county employees who work in the building were given the rest of the day off. The bomb threat still under investigation today and authorities say they believe it was directed at the Tom Green County Adult Probation Department.
