Runoff For Tom Green Sheriff

There's going to be a runoff election for sheriff of Tom Greene County. The much-delayed primary election yesterday left candidate David Jones only sixty-three votes shy of the number needed to break fifty percent and secure the nomination. Instead, unofficial results give Jones about 49-point-3 percent, forcing a runoff with the second-place vote-getter, Steve Mild. Mild received almost 25 percent of the ten thousand votes cast. That runoff election yet to be scheduled.
