Primary Election Day - Finally

Voters in the Concho Valley and elsewhere in Texas finally going to the polls today. The long-delayed Texas primary election is being held after being postponed several times due to squabbles over new voting district maps. Now, voters can decide on a number of national, state and local races that will set up the ballot for the November General Election. In addition to picking presidential favorites, voters in Tom Green County are choosing final candidates for Sheriff and District Attorney, among several other posts. In the Sheriff's race, four Republicans -- Steve Mild, Keith Muncey, David Jones and David Faison -- all vying for the nomination to run against Democrat Walter Bryant and Libertarian David Benton in November. The District Attorney race is an all-Republican show with current D-A Steve Lupton retiring. Lupton has endorsed Allison Palmer who is running against fellow G-O-P candidates Andrew Graves and Nathan Butler. No opposition in sight in November for the winner. Polls open until seven o'clock tonight.
