Two Texas universities are now making use of unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly known as "drones." A Texas State University professor is helping design one to use for environmental monitoring, such as for prescribed burn effectiveness or tracking wildlife. Researchers at Texas A and M-Corpus Christi are using a drone for similar purposes and mapping the coastline.
