Is there a place for the Libertarian political viewpoint in local law enforcement? We'll see because now there's a Libertarian candidate for Tom Green County Sheriff. David Benton announcing his candidacy this week and saying laws should be enforced when people need to be protected, not simply because they're on the books. Benton comes to the race as a Sheriff's outsider: he has a criminal justice degree from Angelo State, is a firearms instructor and has worked security at Goodfellow Air Force Base.
