Texas school spending

The state of Texas is not a big spender when it comes to public schools. According to the National Education Association, the state spends less than nine-thousand dollars per student per year. That compares to the national average of more than 11-thousand dollars. Last year, Texas ranked 41st in the nation in student spending and the state has dropped this year to 45th in the country.
