Sports headlines

The Central Bobcats have had a fantastic season so far, compiling a 29-5 record, and enter the playoffs with momentum. The Bobcats will take on Arlington Lamar - with a 12-17 record - in a 5A bi-district playoff at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Clyde. With a win, it would be the first in the playoffs for Central since 2001.

Angelo State University Athletic Director has announced her retirement, effective May 31st. Under the leadership of Kathleen Brasfield, ASU women's athletics expanded and earned the university's first two NCAA Division II national championships.

The ASU Rams beat Incarnate Word Saturday afternoon and that put the Rams in sole possession of eighth place in the LSC with just two games remaining in the regular season. The top eight teams will qualify for the LSC Tournament next month. The Rams host Tarleton State Wednesday.
