It seems obvious, but San Angelo police are warning you to never leave a vehicle unattended while it's running or leave spare keys inside the vehicle. As they investigated vehicle thiefts that took place weekend before last, officers discovered that several of the vehicles had been left running--either while it was being warmed up or while the driver ran an errand. In one case, a vehicle was stolen thanks to the key being left in the center console.
