The Tom Green County Sheriff's Department will be getting a new radio system. County commissioners have approved an 18-thousand dollar grant to pay for the upgrade. Nine new portable radios will give deputies access to more channels to stay connected during disaster scenarios with each other and with deputies in other counties.
