Long Prison Term For DUI Manslaughter

Enough is enough. That's essentially what a judge in San Angelo said this morning in handing along prison term to a man with several previous drunk driving convictions, the latest of which resulted in a death. Judge Ben Woodward handed down a forty-five year prison sentence to a sixty-year-old Mexican national in the June, 2011, death of James Young. The judge ruling the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Two sentences actually handed down: one of ten years for intoxicated assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury; the other a 35-year term for intoxication manslaughter, to be served concurrently. It's likely the defendant will be deported to Mexico.
