85 MPH

If you identify with the Sammy Hagar song, "I Can't Drive 55," you should love this development. A new stretch of highway opening north of Seguin is setting its speed limit to 85 miles per hour, the highest in the nation. But you'll have to pay for the privilege: the segment of Texas 130 running from just south of Austin to I-10 in Seguin will be a toll road. Toll rates have not been set. The 85-mile an hour stretch of roadway is expected to open November 11th.
